Salt – Two pinches (optional); Cooking oil - 1/4 tsp (optional)
Method: (a). Preparation
Wash and chop cabbage if possible in a vegetable chopper or grate it finely or chop finely. Transfer to a microwavable glass bowl.
Grate coconut and two chilies coarsely in the chopper for ½ a minute. Add two pinches of salt.
In a thick bottomed pan, dry roast or shallow fry in oil all the five ingredients of the seasoning, till the gram turns light brown and a nice aroma emanates.
Microwave cabbage with lid on at full power for 5- 6 mins, till done (exact time depends on the power output of the microwave), without adding water. Don't drain the water that oozes from cabbage after microwaving.
Add grated coconut-chili-salt mixture to the roasted seasoning.
Saute for two minutes on medium heat.
Add micro-waved cabbage.
Stir at medium heat for two more minutes. Turn off heat.
