Today's a memorable day in my life. I met a senior artist/ writer Sri. Tallavajhula Sivaji at his studio-home, thanks to Mohanbabu and Prasad.
Sivaji 's got unmistakably unique style. Elements and experiences from every day life assume great significance in his work, that they almost begin to converse with you in a new voice. What I loved most about his art is 'his characteristic perspective views of bovine/ avian life,' most unconventional but very endearing. He carefully captures small but important details for you, that you might otherwise not record consciously. I find his attention to detail quite engaging. There's always something more to discover.
The dragonfly happens to be the recurring metaphor in his recent works. "Dragonfly is seasonal. Appears only in moist seasons. A harbinger of happiness and prosperity," gently explained Sivaji, this afternoon showing us his masterpieces one by one.
His study of form and void brings to life almost anything; In every form he produces: line sketches, watercolor renders or oil paintings. His unassuming neighbor next door like demeanor only accentuates the simple yet profoundly philosophical themes used in his fine works of art. Am fortunate to buy a few of these paintings from his enormous body work.
